IT is a new dawn for Tottenham, with a new manager at the helm and a host of stars set to leave following a dismal season.

Ange Postecoglou appears set to overhaul the squad as he aims to bring the club back in European football next season.

However, to do so he will need a host of new players to make the team competitive.

Spurs were 11 points off the Champions League spots and will be desperate to bridge the gap next season.

Postecoglou guided Celtic to the Scottish Treble, and is renowned for his high-octane, attacking brand of football – something Spurs have been far divorced from with previous managerial appointments.

And following the arrival of the Aussie, SunSport have taken a look at five players the club should look to sign in order to bounce back from their horror campaign.

Kyogo Furuhashi

The first of these is a forward Postecoglou will know well from his time at Celtic – Kyogo Furuhashi.

SunSport told you how the 34-goal ace is on Spurs’ radar with talisman Harry Kane set to depart after interest from Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Kyogo, 28, would move seamlessly into Postecoglou’s system and a Premier League move would likely be too good to turn down.

David Raya

Raya would be the first step in overhauling the team’s spine

The second star they should aim for is David Raya, who would help in transforming the spine of the team.

As SunSport revealed, Spurs are desperate to land the Brentford star, and in light of Hugo Lloris’ exit, a new shot-stopper is a priority.

Raya’s proficiency on the ball embodies the modern goalkeeper, and the Bees are willing to sell the 27-year-old with just one year left on his contract.

James Maddison

He can provide the creative spark Spurs have desperately cried out for

James Maddison was a small bright spark across Leicester‘s dire season, and following the Foxes relegation, a move for the Englishman should be a no-brainer.

Spurs cried out for a spark of creativity with Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski below par throughout the campaign.

A £40million price tag, as revealed by SunSport, for the England International should also mark out a relative bargain, considering the quality of the player and the North London side’s needs.

Marc Guehi

The Englishman can provide a modern solution to Spurs’ defensive issues

Despite supposedly having a defensively sound boss in Antonio Conte, Spurs still conceded 63 goals across the season.

Like the signing of Raya, Marc Guehi would help the club to transform the spine of the team into a more progressive outfit.

Stars such as Eric Dier are reportedly on the chopping block this summer, with other stars such as Clement Lenglet unlikely to be made permanent, so defensive recruits make sense.

Harry Maguire

His experience could be vital as Spurs seek to bridge the gap to the top four

In line with the logic of Guehi, Harry Maguire would represent another star who can help improve a leaky defence.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to give the England stalwart a £10m pay-off to shift him out this summer, opening the door for Spurs to sign him.

The 30-year-old has bags of Premier League experience and given his England future is growing doubtful, a transfer to new surroundings would make sense.

SunSport have also looked at five stars the club should look to sell over the summer.
